Dispersion relation of Krauklis wave. The phase speed, c, of the Krauklis wave scaled by the S-wave velocity, β, of the surrounding solid is plotted as a function of wavelength, L = 2π/k. Shown are four cases wherein ϱ = 1,α/β= 3 and (a) β = 0.5, (b) β = 1, (c) β = 1.5, and (d) β = 5. At a certain wavenumber, there is more than one solution. In this case, we show the 12 smallest phase velocities at most to simplify the plot. The solid and broken lines respectively represent the symmetric and antisymmetric solutions. The gray horizontal line represents the Rayleigh wave speed. The gray oblique line shows the asymptotic phase speed (40) of the symmetric solution in the long-wave limit.
