The maps of (a) an average percentage occurrence of phase scintillation σ Φ exceeding 0.1 radians and (b) average number of cycle slips for epoch days before and after the arrival of CIRs. The positions of the statistical auroral oval are superposed in solid white lines for conditions from very quiet (IQ = 0) to very disturbed (IQ = 6), proportionally to the daily mean value of the Kp index.
