  1. Satellite F misfits are calculated with respect to scalar input data. Observatory F misfits are at high geomagnetic dipole latitude and are calculated with respect to vector data projected onto an a priori model. All observatory vector misfits are at mid and low geomagnetic dipole latitudes. Mid and low latitudes are defined as being between ±50°, with high latitudes outside this range. The number of data quoted counts each component separately.
