P-wave velocity anomalies at the CMB near African Anomaly plotted as a function of sampling longitude. Slow and fast anomalies are shown in gray crosses and black circles, respectively. The binned data (gray solid circles with one standard deviation) are calculated with a 10-degree moving window and a 5-degree overlap. Although there are several fast anomalies, the slow anomalies show a trend that the values decrease gradually with the increase of longitude, meaning the closer they are to the African Anomaly, the larger P-wave velocity reductions they exhibit
