The dashed gray and pink lines show a range of one standard deviation for the corresponding events. The observed values were adjusted for site amplification effects for both events, and the anomalous path effect due to the subducting Philippine Sea Plate for the 2004 event. Note that the correction for the anomalous path effect due to the subducting plate is required only for recordings from events located inside the oceanic plates
