The similar distribution of EMIC wave duration for the total period of 2011–2017 are depicted in c and d for quiet and disturbed days, respectively. The numbers on the top of each bar denote the days for which the EMIC wave occurrence was seen in the corresponding categories. There are total 1007 quiet and 256 disturbed days. Occurrence of events with longer durations are marked by dotted rectangle
