From: Stationarity of aftershock activities of the 2016 Central Tottori Prefecture earthquake revealed by dense seismic observation

Fig. 1

Distribution of aftershock-observation stations and aftershock hypocenters. Locations of seismic stations of “Manten”, “0.1 Manten” and GSX three-component seismographs, and permanent stations (operated by NIED, and JMA) are indicated by red triangles, red reversed triangles, green crosses, and blue rectangles, respectively. Black dots are aftershocks that occurred from October 22 to December 15, 2016 (analyzed in this study). Cyan rectangle indicates the mainshock fault estimated from InSAR and GNSS data assuming uniform slip (GSI 2017). The red rectangle in the large-scale map indicates the study area. Yellow dots in the large-scale map show the epicentral distribution of earthquakes of depths < 30 km. Ellipses are focal areas of earthquakes of MJMA > 7.0 that occurred in past 100 years and red closed triangles are active volcanoes. The arrows indicate the San’in seismic zone
