Circles represent the interplate aftershocks that occurred in the 5 years following each mainshock (relocated in black and un-relocated in gray), and are sized by their \(2R\) values (Eq. 1). Gray rectangles denote the assigned fault planes for the slip inversion analysis, and dotted dark gray rectangles indicate the regions where slip was considered in the quantitative analysis
