Summary of the reconstructed sequence of the 2018 small phreatic eruption of Iwo-yama volcano. The eruption began at 15:39 on April 19 at Y2a in the South Crater area. The Y2a vent widened from 18:40, and then the eruption intensified from 19:19. Simultaneously with the vent widening, Y3 was activated and then became the main source of high-frequency infrasonic signals after 3:57 on April 20. Weak fumaroles appeared in the West Crater area around 16:30 on April 20. An eruption or gas emission started from 21:05 at W6. A small eruption emitting ash and ejecta occurred at 21:42 at W3–W4, resulting in the formation of a crater
