This is a schematic of the Cartesian grid upon which the electromagnetic fields are solved and the “spherical” grid where the chemistry and collisions are applied to existing particles and those being created. The “spherical” grid has been expanded so that one can see some of the details. The radius of the “spherical” grid ranges between 150 km and 600 km to 1000 km.
