Time-frequency analysis of the energy spectral density (ESD) of two medium soil sites. (a) Station MYG013 presents acceleration peaks (shaded areas in top panel) typical of cyclic mobility. Concomitantly, there is a shift of energy to lower frequencies after each event’s rupture (dashed lines in bottom panel f2 < f1). (b) Station CHB024 shows only one event, and the signals go through a strong cyclic mobility (shaded area in top panel) and liquefaction. In addition, note the high frequency missing above 0.5 Hz after 125 s in the ESD diagram of this station (dashed line in bottom panel).
