Strong fuming activities are evident at the Pon-Machineshiri crater and at Naka-Machineshiri. An additional fuming ground is located at about 2 km northeast of the summit area. Flowing hot springs are distributed at the foot of the volcano. Major hot springs Meakan Onsen and Yuno-taki are located at the western side. An additional hot spring flows from the opposite side of the volcano. Orange-colored hatches correspond to the alignment of surface hydrothermal activities.
