The vertical dashed line in each diagram represents the P-wave arrival time determined by human experts. “M” and “d” on the top of each diagram represent the magnitude of the earthquake and the distance from the hypocenter, respectively. The output of the final “softmax function”, which represents the probability (or reliability) of the estimated polarity in percentage, is also shown together with the CNN polarity determination for each trace
