In this figure, the fault system on land was constructed based on GeomapNavi of the Geological Survey of Japan (2017), Japan Natural Gas Association and Japan Offshore Petroleum Development Association (1992) and Takahashi (2006). Letters “A” to “F” represent the structural blocks (segments) bounded on both sides by the NW–SE trending large transcurrent faults. The alphabetical symbols for large transcurrent faults are the same as those of Fig. 1
