a–f The anisotropy recovery test based on the isotropic S-wave velocity model without anisotropy (background color in Fig. 6) at discrete depth levels. Since the model has no anisotropy (only spatial variation of S-wave velocity), we expect no anisotropy in this results. The minor magnitude of azimuthal anisotropy compared to the estimated anisotropy (bars in Fig. 6) demonstrates the effectiveness of the inversion method used for anisotropy analysis
