The arrow indicates the average direction of the motion of Adria relative to Eurasia (Serpelloni et al. 2016; Devoti et al. 2017). Solid circles depict the earthquakes used in the attenuation tomography and open circles indicate those additionally employed in the travel-time tomography. The dark gray polygons illustrate the surface exposure of Permian magmatic rocks from Tadiello and Braitenberg 2021.
