Locations of epicenters and strong-motion stations in Kumamoto region, Japan used in this study. Red circles denote epicenters of the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake sequence with magnitudes. A star with a black circle denotes an epicenter of the mainshock. Inverse triangles denote strong-motion stations of K-NET, KiK-net, and JR Kyushu, and temporary seismic stations. Temporary seismic stations were installed by Yamanaka et al. (2016) and Tsuno et al. (2017).
