Fig. 9

The elimination of SSiA from \({{\bf{S}}_{\bf{i}}}{\bf{D}}_{\bf{1}}^{\bf{o}}\) by the modified CSSA method, applied to the conjugate \({{\bf{S}}_{\bf{i}}}{\bf{D}}_{\bf{1}}^{\bf{o}}({\rm{N}})\) and \({{\bf{S}}_{\bf{i}}}{\bf{D}}_{\bf{1}}^{\bf{o}}({\rm{S}})\) artificially produced by averaging, respectively, almost all the northern and southern neutron monitor data (Nagashima et al., 1983a, 1984). Black triangles, observed total vectors; open triangles, expected spurious; black circle, corrected vector; open circle, resulting spurious.
