Gray zones indicate three subplinian eruption events each lasting several hours. Tilt records are corrected to remove tidal effects by BAYTAP-G (Ishiguro and Tamura, 1985). Lower panel shows an expanded view of January 26–27 at the start of magmatic eruptive activity.
